What were the reasons for the settlement of the Vikings?

The Vikings originally lived in the northern parts of the Scandinavian Peninsula and over the centuries descended to more southern regions in what is now Denmark. However, over time, their numbers increased so much that the northern badlands could no longer provide for all those in need. Also, starting from the 7th century, among the Scandinavian tribes there was a disintegration of the tribal system, during which the aristocracy seized more and more lands of the poor. Because of this, the poor classes were forced to look for a new home.
