What were the results of the Mongol invasions?

The Middle Ages was marked by feudal fragmentation on the territory of almost all European countries, and Russia was no exception. The weakened state attracted neighboring states, which sought to obtain part of its lands. So, already at the beginning of the XIII century, the Horde marches were made to the Russian lands. As a result, the fragmented Russian lands fell under the rule of the Horde yoke. Many cities and villages were defeated and destroyed, thousands of people were taken prisoner, culture ceased to develop in Russia. People were frightened by the occasional raids. They paid tribute, and the rulers were forced to ask the Mongols for permission to rule.
