What were the rights and obligations of members of the Roman community?

The Roman community arose around the third century BC. It consisted of nobles from the upper strata of society. People who were free, but did not enter the community, were called plebeians. The main task of the nobles was to maintain order in the Roman Empire, resolve issues related to the life of citizens and the management of slaves, property and the quality of life of the population. Of course, members of the community were provided with a number of privileges that distinguished them from ordinary Romans: they had a relatively high income, they were provided with housing and food, and their children had the primary right to education in schools and gymnasiums.
