What were the social conflicts in American society?

The biggest social conflict in American society is the racial-ethnic conflict. Throughout the history of the United States, the white population of this country has tried to distinguish itself and place itself above other ethnic groups, especially blacks and Indians. For example, the Indians had to live and study in specially designated places – reservations. Until the middle of the 20th century, blacks were obliged to give way to white citizens in public transport.
