What were the wars of ancient Greece?

The Greco-Persian Wars are a sequence of wars between the great empire of Persia and a coalition of Greek city-states. This lasted for about half a century from 499 BC. until 488 BC Despite the fact that we are talking about the Greco-Persian wars, not always all of Greece fought against the Persians, since their strength and authority were much higher.
The Ionian uprising marked the beginning of the first Persian war. In 539 BC. Cyrus the Great ruled over Persia and most of Western Asia. During his reign, he was first captured by Lydia, which lay along the coast of Anatolia. Cities that were dependent on Lydia automatically became helpless, and Cyrus’ next step was to capture these cities. Their inhabitants were then called Ionians. Ionia is today based in modern Turkey. Cyrus was a cruel ruler. He increased taxes and appointed tyrants in these regions.
His son Cambyses supported Cyrus and he also conquered Egypt and some of the Greek islands between Anatolia and Greece, the most important of which is Samos.
Later, Darius, the son of Cambyses, who became king, attacked the Scythians, but he lost. He returned to Persia with his army.
Darius’ move proved beneficial to him, as other Greek states believed they would be next in line to attack. Macedonian concluded a peace treaty with Persia in 510 BC. When Persia decided to attack Naxos, Aristagoras was appointed to lead the battle. Aristagoras was the tyrant of Miletus, who is known to have been close to the king of Persia. But the Persians lost. Seeing that powerful rulers like Persia could lose twice in a row, the Greek city-states occupied by the Persians decided to rebel. This is known as the Ionian Revolt. But the Ionians were defeated at the Battle of Lada in 494 BC. The Ionian uprising lasted for about half a century.
