The Odyssey is a poem by Homer. She talks about the adventures of Odysseus, king of Ithaca. He traveled a lot, participated in wars, and also saw mythical creatures such as sirens. In one scene, he sees at a feast a blind old poet, by whom Homer meant himself.

The Iliad is also a poem by Homer. The Iliad tells about the course of the Trojan War.

Both of these poems are considered the most important literary heritage of Ancient Greece. Half of all ancient Greek manuscripts found are from Homer. Many famous writers quote it in their books and speeches.
