| Reaction equation:
CaCO3 + 2HCl = CaCl2 + CO2 + H2O
The amount of CaCO3 substance:
v (CaCO3) = m (CaCO3) / M (CaCO3) = 40/100 = 0.4 (mol).
According to the reaction equation, 1 mol of CaCO3 forms 1 mol of CO2, therefore
v (CaCO3) = v (CO2) = 0.4 (mol).
Then the volume of carbon dioxide released during normal operation. (under normal conditions):
V (CO2) = v (CO2) * Vm = 0.4 * 22.4 = 8.96 (L).
