When and for what purpose was the International Red Book created?

The International Red Book was created in 1949. She combined information about endangered species that are forbidden to be destroyed. Many species of animals and plants have been destroyed by humans. Therefore, various protection methods are taken to preserve the different species. Almost every country has a Red Book. There is also the Black Book. This is the title of a book that lists extinct species of animals and plants in recent times. They died out mainly due to the fault of man and his activities.
