The first metals – copper and gold – began to be used in 4-5 millennia BC. They were found in the form of nuggets, then molded into the desired shape without using melting. Gradually, people learned how to extract metals from ore, to note the change in their properties: when heated, the metals became softer, took shape faster. In the 3rd millennium BC. mankind became acquainted with silver and lead.
Ancient Egypt dates back to about 3000 BC. Its occurrence was facilitated by a warm climate, favorable conditions for growing crops in the Nile River valley. Gradually, methods of irrigation of lands were created in dry periods, wonderful monuments of architecture – pyramids were built. Science, trade, diplomacy developed.
