When did Napoleon attack Russia?

In 1812, Napoleon Bonaparte, having collected a huge army consisting of corps (about 450 thousand people), went on a campaign against the Russian Empire. In mid-June, the Battle of Smolensk took place, which the Russians lost. Later, on August 26, 1812, the Battle of Borodino took place; it can be called one of the largest and most bloody battles of the 19th century. More than 300 thousand people took part in it. Unfortunately, the Russian army was defeated. True, after the French troops entered Moscow in September, Napoleon’s luck turned away. After many unsuccessful battles and retreats, only a handful of warriors returned home in November. Thus ended Napoleon’s campaign against Russia, where he lost his Great Army.
