When did Rome become the capital of Italy?

Rome became the capital of Italy in 1871. Before that, the capital was the city of Florence since 1865, and even earlier – Turin since 1861, when Italy was finally unified. There were cases when the capital had to be moved from Rome to other cities in Italy, for example: from 1943 to 1944 in Brindisi, from 1944 until the liberation of Rome from the troops – to the city of Salermo.
