When did the Byzantine empire flourish under Justinian?

Justinian ruled in Byzantium from 527 to 565. This period was the heyday of Byzantium. Then it was the most powerful state of the early Middle Ages in Europe, Africa and Asia, only Sassanian Iran, India and China could compare with it.

Under Justinian, Byzantium controlled the entire northern coast of North Africa, southern Europe (southern Spain, almost all of modern Italy, the Balkans), part of the Middle East, from Adjara to Jerusalem.

The flourishing was expressed not only in the territory, but also in the development of culture, stone construction, the emergence of a code of laws (Justinian’s code).
