When did the defeat of the Avar Kaganate take place?

Late VIII – early IX century AD. At this time, the Franco-Avar war falls, the result of which was the defeat of the Avar Kaganate, completed by an attack on the lands of the Bulgarian Khan Krum that remained behind the Avars. By the beginning of 805, the entire eastern part of the kagan was occupied by the Bulgarians, while the western lands were already under the control of the Franks. Until 823, the Avars were considered vassals of the Franco kingdom, after which all references to them as an independent nationality disappear.
