When was the atomic bomb invented?

In 1945, the first atomic bombs were created – 3 pieces. Two of them were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and the third was tested a little earlier. Atomic bombs were invented as part of the Manhattan Project, which began on September 17, 1943.
