When was the Mesopotamia civilization formed?

The historical region of Mesopotamia is considered the cradle of civilizations. Approximately in the period from 4 to 3 thousand BC. e. the first civilizations appeared in the territories of Mesopotamia. These include the Sumerian state, which is known for the fact that writing appeared there for the first time and science developed. Later, closer to the 2nd millennium BC. e. on the territory of the regions between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, the legendary Babylonia arose, which was famous for its high culture and wonders of the world. These include the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and the Tower of Babel.
