Consequently, the period of the Stone Age begins with the beginning of the use of stone tools by ancient man, about 3 million years ago, when the first hominids appeared in Africa. And ends around the second millennium BC. But it is worth noting that in different parts of the world the transition from stone to the use of metals occurred unevenly over time. If we take Europe and Asia, then the Stone Age ended in the 4th millennium BC.
