Where and when did the first laws appear?

The first laws originated in primitive society. They were not complex and varied. But everyone did not exactly save from conflicts. Therefore, for a normal, peaceful existence, it became necessary to create specific rules that needed to be supported by all members of the tribe.
The laws applied to all spheres of society – family, everyday life, war, hunting.
But the most important were three:
– incest was prohibited;
– it was forbidden to kill one’s relative;
– to leave without the help of helpless children, invalids, old people.
For violation of these rules, a person was punished.
With the development of society, laws also changed. The first state laws appeared about 4 thousand years ago in ancient Babylon. King Hammurali published them on paper. They clearly defined the rights of property owners and the rights of a citizen.
In 534, the Byzantine emperor Justinian created his famous Civil Code.
First, the laws were issued by the rulers of states. Over time, judges appeared, and the right to make laws passed to them.
