Where are cobwebs formed and how and how is the spider used?

There are several glands located on the abdomen of the spider that produce a silky thread called a spider’s web. Each gland produces thread for a special purpose. There are seven different known glands. Each spider only has some of these glands, not all seven together.

Usually a spider has three pairs of spinners, but there are spiders with one pair or as many as four pairs. Each type of web has its own function. Spinners have small tubes that are connected to glands. The number of pipes ranges from 2 to 50,000.
