At the root, the absorption of water and dissolved mineral substances in it occurs in the absorption zone – root hairs. Water flows through the vessels and tracheitis to the leaves due to root pressure (osmosis) and evaporation of water (transpiration) from the leaves through the stomata, since a sucking force arises during evaporation.
