Where did man first appear?

From archaeological excavations of the 20th century, it is known that the oldest hominid – a skilled man, found in the Olduvai Gorge, dates back to 2.8-2.5 million years. Olduvai Gorge is located in the state of Tanzania. Excavations in this meta have been carried out since the 30s, but it was not until 1960 that the remains of the first “people” were discovered. Also found was Pithecanthropus of Olduvai, a relative of Homo erectus. These discoveries were made by the spouses of Leakey. Based on their findings, they localized the first people in this African region.
