Where did the Athenians gather in Athens?

It was a cult place in the Athenian city. The name of this place was given by the ancient Greeks themselves – agora. In fact, this place can be designated as a city square. In Athens, the government of the city-state through a democratic basis was spread, therefore the square became the place where all citizens gathered to solve the pressing problems of their place of residence. But besides this, some kind of competition for Greek athletes could be held on the square, thinkers could debate there, that is, if we speak in modern categories, it was a business center.
