Where did the first civilizations originate?

The very first ancient civilizations arose on the territory where large rivers flowed: in China (the Yangtze and Yellow rivers); in India (the Indus and Ganges rivers); in Africa (river Nile); in Asia Minor (the Tigris and Euphrates rivers). Thus, about 4-3 thousand BC, ancient civilizations arose. The most ancient of these was the Sumer civilization. It arose on the lands of Mesopotamia as early as 4 thousand BC. The main cities of the Sumerians were: Ur, Uruk, Kish and Lagash.
