Where did the Franks form their kingdom?

Frankish tribes lived near the Rhine River. In the 5th century, under the influence of the strong Merovingian dynasty, the Franks set out to conquer the Roman Empire. In subsequent years, they built their state on the ruins of the former great state of the Romans. The Frankish state adopted Christianity and united. But after a few years it was divided into several parts: the West Frankish kingdom, the Middle Frankish kingdom and the Eastern one. It was located in the territories of modern European countries (Germany, France).
