Where did the Greeks defeat the Persians?

During the Greco-Persian wars, the Greeks managed to get three major victories over their sworn enemy – the Persians. The first victorious battle took place near the settlement of Marathon in 490 BC, then the Greeks were able to prevent the landing of the Persian army. The second battle took place in 480 BC, although this time it was a naval battle near Salamis Island. There the Greeks managed to defeat the Persian fleet. The third and final victory took place in the battle near Palatea, in this major battle the Greeks completely defeated the Persians.
