Where did the Middle Ages end?

It is the fact of the discovery of America by Columbus that is this point. However, this can also be said about the beginning of the English Revolution, the fall of Constantinople. The discovery of America by Columbus is simply one of the recorded facts. America, long before that, the Scandinavians visited many times, but for some reason this is not taken into account.

Other smart men attribute the end of the Middle Ages to the French Revolution. They justified this by cardinal changes in society, and not by geographical discoveries of a dubious nature.
