Where did the Romans gather to pass the law?

The popular assembly of all the citizens of Rome by the centuria or centuriate comitia was held on the Champ de Mars. Since this was a gathering of all free and armed people, it could not gather within the city. There were 193 centuries in total, but most of them belonged to the patricians. Often, the voting for a particular law of the first 97 centuries became sufficient for its adoption. In 287 BC. e plebs entered into another political confrontation with the patricians. As a result, the Hortense law was issued, which considered equating the decision of the plebeian tribes to the law.
