Where did the Usuns live and leave traces of their stay?

From the second century BC Usuns occupied the territories of Semirechye, Dzungaria, Central Tien Shan. Usuns numbered more than 630 thousand. Their life was characterized by constant civil strife and the struggle for supreme power. The richest was the one who had the most horse heads. The wealthiest Usuns had about 4-5 thousand horses. Excavations of burial mounds near the village of Chelpek make it possible to learn better about the life of the Usuns. The skulls found during the excavations turned out to be Caucasoid, but with a large percentage of Mongoloid admixtures.
