Liberals and conservatives advocated autocracy as the only possible form of government. It was common. It was different that the conservatives were of the opinion that all power should belong to the monarch, they supported the preservation of serfdom, considered it a blessing for the people. Liberals advocated the delineation of power, the creation of a constitutional monarchy, the limitation of serfdom, or its complete abolition.
