Where does plastic and energy exchange take place?

Energy metabolism, or catabalism or dissimilation, takes place in the mitochondria. During it, energy is released in the form of ATP molecules and heat, which is dissipated throughout the cell / body. This process is called glycolysis and has 3 stages. Preparatory, anoxic – mitochondrial matrix, 2 ATP molecules and pyruvic acid are formed from glucose. The oxygen stage is the cristae of the same mitochondria. Pyruvic acid is oxidized to oxygen and water, 36 ATP molecules are formed.
Plastic, assimilation or anabolism, occurs as a result of the body’s synthesis of substances. Primarily proteins. It occurs on ribosomes.
