Where does the assembly of RNA molecules take place?

RNA is structurally very flexible, which provides it with the basis for a variety of functions. The RNA molecule often takes on different conformations, which allows its function to be regulated by bending. Proteins help RNA to achieve a functionally active conformation, increasing their structural stability or accompanying the folding process. Large, dynamic RNA protein complexes, such as the ribosome, require many proteins to coordinate the conformational switches of RNA components during assembly and during their respective actions.
