Australia and North America are located quite far from each other. These two continents are located on different hemispheres (Australia in the South and North America in the North) and in different parts of the Pacific Ocean. If you look at the map, you can determine that North America is in the northeast direction in relation to Australia. The latter is closer to South America, which is in the east.
