Where is the food center located and how important is it?

The food center in our body is located in the hypothalamus, the cerebral cortex.

It consists of two departments:
Hunger center
Saturation center

The task of the food center is the formation of eating behavior so that the body is full and maintains vital functions. Information about hunger and satiety reaches the brain either through the nerves that are located from the stomach to the intestines, or through substances that are in the blood.

What is the importance of nutrition? It keeps us alive. Together with food, we receive important trace elements, vitamins, proteins, fats and carbohydrates, all of which we need for our growth, development, performance. But you can’t overeat, it only harms the body and various diseases, like obesity. And malnutrition can lead to exhaustion, this is anorexia.
Without food, a person can live for several weeks, about a month, and without water, a maximum of 5 days.
