Which animals are called cold-blooded and which are warm-blooded? Give examples.
Cold-blooded animals – animals whose body temperature depends on the ambient temperature. With a decrease in the temperature of the environment, the body temperature of animals decreases, the heartbeat, metabolism decreases, hibernation, suspended animation. Cold-blooded animals include fish, reptiles, and amphibians.
In these animals, arterial and venous blood mix, since there is no complete septum in the heart, organs and the brain receive mixed blood, therefore they cannot maintain a constant body temperature.
Warm-blooded animals are animals whose body temperature does not depend on the ambient temperature. These include birds and animals (mammals). These animals have a complete septum in the heart, which prevents the mixing of arterial and venous blood.
