Which colonies developed faster in Latin America or North America, and why?

The colonies of South America developed more slowly due to the greater remoteness from the metropolises in Europe (Peru, Bolivia, El Salvador), feudal remnants associated with Spanish and Portuguese rule (backward European countries for the 18th century), and also because of the composition of the population – Indians (traditional way of life, often subsistence farming), blacks (slaves on plantations).

In North America in the XVIII century there was agricultural colonization, the driving force was immigrants from Europe, who brought with them the level of that time – cultural and economic.
