Which continent is made up of two parts of the world?

America is the only continent made up of two different parts of the world. This continent was discovered by Europeans in the fifteenth century, but was already inhabited. Its parts, South and North America, have connected in the recent geographic past and now there is a narrow strip of land between them. And before that, hundreds of millions of years, these continents were separate, their flora and fauna are quite different from each other. Indigenous peoples came to this continent through North America and only then spread south.
