Which heats up faster, earth or water?

It is quite logical that the earth’s surface heats up more rapidly, because the sun’s rays hit exactly on its surface. But with water, things are completely different, and this is to blame for some factors. For example, water has a high heat capacity, and unlike the earth’s surface, it is capable of evaporating. Evaporation understandably stimulates its cooling, which interferes with the sun’s rays from directly contacting its surface.
