Which hypothesis says that life on our planet has always existed and has undergone various cataclysms?

This is the theory of a steady state of life. According to this theory, our planet has always existed. The same goes for all species. They never appeared, but could only change their numbers or die out. Of course, this theory is very absurd and has nothing to do with the truth. We know exactly when our planet arose, how life was born, we know about the evolution of living organisms, about the stages of evolution, and so on. There are other theories, no less absurd, but in which many people believe.
