Which is better developed in the Nordic countries – agriculture or animal husbandry, and why?

The cold climate and the barren stony soils of Northern Europe do not allow for farming throughout the countries. Therefore, the main branch of agriculture here is animal husbandry. Among the industries, most of the products are provided by pig breeding, reindeer breeding, goat breeding, poultry farming, and dairy cattle breeding. Almost all of the arable land is sowed with forage crops. Agriculture is highly intensive, products are consumed domestically and exported to EU countries.
