In 1722, travelers from Holland landed on a previously unknown island in the southeast of the Pacific Ocean. Due to the fact that it was Easter Resurrection, the island was deservedly called “Easter”. Its dimensions are 163 sq. km. You can also find such a name as “Rapa Nui”. It is characterized by a warm climate with a very undeveloped flora. The population is about 6 thousand people. In tourism it is known for its stone statues, which are scattered around the island in huge numbers.
