Which mountains in Africa are young and which are old?

In Africa, there are few ridges, and the relief is quite flat. In the extreme south and north of the continent, the Cape Mountains and the Atlas Ridge stretch, respectively, which occurred in the distant geological past. These mountains appeared when the supercontinent Pangea and Gondwana still existed on the planet. And in the central part of the continent, there are younger and rather active chains of volcanoes and tectonic mountains, such as the Virunga and Rwenzori ranges.
