Which ocean did Christopher Columbus cross on his journey to find the western route to India?

Since Christopher Columbus traveled westward from Spain, the only ocean he could cross was the Atlantic. After all, it is this ocean that surrounds Europe, where Spain is located, from all sides. Columbus’ expedition took about two and a half months to overcome the waters of the Atlantic.
