Which of the listed oxides will sodium hydroxide react with: CaO, SO3, FeO, ZnO, CO2?

We are given oxides: CaO, SO3, FeO, ZnO, CO2. It is necessary to draw up the equations for the reactions of the interaction of oxides with sodium hydroxide.

For CO2, two interaction reactions are possible:

CO2 + NaOH = NaHCO3 (CO2 in excess).

And the second possible reaction:

CO2 + 2NaOH = Na2CO3 + H2O (NaOH in excess).

NaOH + CaO – no reaction.

NaOH + FeO – the reaction is not taking place.

There are two possible reactions with NaOH:

NaOH + SO3 = NaHSO4 (NaOH in excess).

NaOH + SO3 = Na2SO4 + H2O (SO3 in excess).

NaOH + MnO (no reaction).

2NaOH + SiO2 = Na2SiO3 + H2O.
