Which of the peoples inhabiting Italy in ancient times was called “the teacher of the Romans” and why?

The Etruscans were called “teachers of the Romans”. When Rome was a small city, the Etruscans had large cities, agriculture and trade were well developed. The Etruscans knew how to process metal, irrigate fields, build ships. In the 6th century BC. in Rome, the Etruscan kings of Tarquinia ruled. Etruscan Servius Tullius developed the basic Roman laws. Religious rites and ceremonies among the Etruscans and Romans were in many ways similar. The Romans learned from the Etruscans to build beautiful temples. In 509 BC. the Romans overthrew Tarquinius the Proud and established a republic.
