Which plants have the most developed root system?

The root system is well developed in trees as they are large and must withstand strong gusts of wind. In addition to the supporting function, a larger root should be in those plants that live in harsh climatic conditions. If the water is very deep, then a well-developed root is needed. In some plants, the root system is much larger than the terrestrial part of the plant. Also, in the same plant species, root systems can be developed differently depending on the environment.
