Which scientist created the first theory of the evolution of living organisms?

The first theory of evolution was put forward by the French encyclopedic naturalist – Jean Baptiste Lamarck. His main achievement is the 2-volume Philosophy of Zoology, written in 1809, in which Lamarck substantiates the theory of the gradual development of living organisms under the influence of natural causes.
