Which state was the first to adopt Christianity?

The first Christian people in the world were the Armenians. It was in their state, called at that time Great Armenia (or the Armenian Kingdom), that Christianity was called the official and only permitted religion. Immediately after this decision was made, traditional pagan statues and temples began to be destroyed. Only some of their samples have survived to this day, for example, an altar and a temple in the city of Garni. Until now, the Armenians remain, in the majority, Christians, while they have their own Gregorian church.
