Seven units of measurement are adopted as the main ones: meter (unit of distance), kilogram (unit of mass), second (unit of time), ampere (unit of measurement of electric current), kelvin (unit of temperature), mol (unit of measurement of the amount of substance) , candela (a unit for measuring luminous intensity).
