Who belonged to the highest power in Rome during the period of the republic?

If we consider the state legislature in ancient Rome, then the Senate possessed the highest power. And legislative rights were distributed between the Senate, the comitia and the magistrates. In certain areas, consuls, praetors, tribunes, censors and dictators had great powers.

Masters had the right to submit bills to the Senate. The Senate initially had about a hundred members, but then their number increased to three hundred. These were representatives of the nobility and the richest families.

The Senate met both on a regular basis and in case of emergency, with the exception of “unfavorable by signs” days.

All executive power in ancient Rome belonged to the highest magistrates.
