The Portsmouth Peace Treaty was signed at the end of the war between Russia and Japan. It was signed on September 5, 1905. As a result of this agreement, Japan received the lands of Lushun and southern Sakhalin. In addition, the alliance between China and the Russian Empire against Japan was broken.
