Who consisted of the Athenian demos?

The Athenian demos mainly consisted of the commoners inhabiting the city. In the 6th century BC. thanks to the reform activities of Solon, all citizens of Athens were able to become full members of the state. Thus, the National Assembly became the main governing body of Athens, and any Athenian citizen could become a member of it.
